A Revolutionary Review of the Year 2009: May

Fellow revolutionaries:

I’ve been posting A Revolutionary Review of the Year 2009 all week, and so far have covered January, February, March and April. Let’s review May 2009, shall we? After all, it’s the American way.

Actually, no. It’s not. The month of May isn’t even American. In fact, the month of May was invented by the Nazis.

And now you know why it’s called Nazimay.

Here’s a Revolutionary Review of May 2009, which I am providing for everybody free of charge. Unless you’re anti-semitic. Then it’s $4.99/minute.

MAY

  • Maine legalized same-sex marriage although, by November, this would prove to be little more than a six-month long cock tease for Maine’s gay couples. Pun absolutely not intended.
  • Kris Allen won the eighth season of the hit reality show American Idol, and then was never seen again.
  • The Supreme Court of California upheld Proposition 8, the state’s ban on same-sex marriage. So, no plagues for California.
  • President Obama nominated Federal Judge Sonia Sotomayor for the U.S. Supreme Court. However, several critics attacked her for having a surname that was “difficult” and “un-American,” with the loudest of these critics being Senator Zebediah Asfrynkthpbbbbtlzinskiro.
  • Time Warner terminated their merger with AOL, although it took over three hours to do so, due to AOL’s slow dial up connection.
